Milad Bagheri

Milad Bagheri is an Iranian music technologist, sound artist, and composer based in Calgary. He designs hybrid interactive sonic systems that fold several disciplines into one performance. His work has been recognized with the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship and the Radio Lab prize from The Wire and CTM Festival. He has been half of NUM, with Maryam Sirvan, since 2010.

Galoba is his debut album: electroacoustic pieces built from Georgian Christmas chants, a recording inside Samtavisi Cathedral, and field recordings he and his partner made across Georgia. At ABEND.02 he designed the lights for Maryam Sirvan’s set.
